Making the Future of Energy Easier to Explore

The Energy Discovery Centre was created to showcase the possibilities of emerging technologies and more sustainable energy sources. As the first building in North America heated entirely by hydrogen, the centre gave ATCO an opportunity to introduce visitors to this evolving technology in a way that felt approachable, informative, and memorable. Working in collaboration with Berlin, Onetwosix developed a series of custom information displays, movable presentation walls, and purpose-built furniture to support guided tours, educational programming, presentations, and special events. The displays help break down complex information into clear and engaging stories, giving visitors a better understanding of hydrogen, how it works, and the role it could play in the future of energy. Flexibility was central to the design. Large information walls were built on custom wheeled bases, allowing them to move easily throughout the space and be arranged in different configurations. Individual elements could be repositioned, grouped together, or moved aside depending on the size of the audience and the needs of each event.
